Individual Therapy

Individual therapy focuses on the well-being of the individual. Individuals work one-on-one with a trained therapist, in a safe, caring, and confidential environment, to explore feelings, beliefs, and/or behaviors, identify and work through challenging aspects of life that require change, a better understanding of self and others, set personal goals, and work toward desired change. When involved in an individual counseling session, you are the main priority of the session.

  1. Confidentiality: Sessions are private and confidential, whatever is discussed in our sessions stays in our sessions, unless there are any safety concerns, such as risk of harm to yourself or others, known or suspected child or elder abuse, court orders, duty to warn and protect others from danger, consent from you to provide certain information to others and insurance and billing.
  2. Personalized Approach: The therapy is tailored to the specific needs and goals we are working on together in therapy.
  3. Therapeutic Relationship: A strong, trusting relationship is fundamental for therapy to be most effective.
  4. Variety of Techniques: There is no one size fit all. We may utilize different therapeutic approaches, such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), ACT, psychodynamic therapy, EMDR, depending on your needs.
  5. Goals: Common goals include managing symptoms of mental health conditions (like depression or anxiety), resolving interpersonal issues, coping with life changes, trauma, grief and achieving personal growth.
