Eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR) accelerates the treatment of a widespread of difficulties related to both past and present distressing events. EMDR has been found effective with numerous presenting concerns including PTSD, varied traumas, depression, phobias, anxiety, somatic conditions, excessive grief, and addictions. The Adaptive Information Processing model, which is what guides EMDR, addresses unprocessed memories that seem to set the base for an array of current dysfunction.
